One month after launch, 3.2 million people are playing Destiny every day

Destiny has about 3.2 million daily players a month after its release, and the average player is sitting down for three-hour sessions with the game, Bungie noted in its latest weekly update.

Bungie also said Destiny's online population over the past three weeks is greater than both Halo 3 and Halo: Reach's online players within the same spans, combined. Of course, there's a catch: Destiny is played entirely online, where the two Halos cited had offline campaigns.

"Pioneering something new is never easy," wrote community manager David Dague. "When we see the raw numbers, it's easy for us to say that the destination was worth the journey."

When it was offered this summer on all four consoles, Destiny's beta was played by 4.6 million people.
