New interface, new Engine and Custom Games.


Valve has announced the first part of its Dota 2 Reborn beta, which introduces a new interface, new engine, and Custom Games.


The Reborn beta is broken into three parts, with the first part featuring a new interface. Information on Custom Games will be unveiled "early next week," while details on the game's new engine and open beta will follow "later that week."


The first part of the Reborn beta updates the in-game dashboard, which includes the feature to merge two parties of players, use voice-chat in the dashboard and during the loading screen, and an activity feed where players can see their friends' accomplishments.


The hero browser has also been updated, and includes a feature where players can demo a hero quickly and try out their abilities or practice their last-hitting.


On the spectator side, Dota 2's own broadcasting feature, DotaTV, is being changed. Streams will be able to hit 1080p at 60fps, and players can share and write their own descriptions on matches. Finally, the game's tutorials will be changed to be provide better ways to teach the game's mechanics.
